Masterclass for Conservatory students 

JUly 31 -AUGUST 4 in DELFT (NL)

From  July 31 - August 4 the 11th Chamber Music Atelier Delft will take place in the unique ambiance of the Delft Chamber Music Festival As well ensembles (conservatory students or young professionals ensembles) as individuals can apply for the masterclass. Individuals will be placed in an ensemble.

The masterclass includes daily lessons with your ensemble (at least two times 45 min per day), concert visits at the Delft Chamber Music Festival, performing in the final concert and additional workshops with musicians of the festival - at the end of the day you can socialize and make music in our music pub.

Donald Grant (violin) -  is co-founder of the Elias Quartet (GB) and since 17 years member of this ensemble. He performs at major concert venues worldwide (o.a. Carnegie Hall, Wiener Musikverein, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall London and Concertgebouw Amsterdam) and recorded many cd's ( e.g. copleet recording of alle Beethoven String Quartets and the album "The way home" with own copositions). He is teacher and Deputy Head of Chamber Music of the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and he is a passionate player of Irish Folk Music.

Werner Dickel (viola) was a longtime member of the Ensemble Modern as weIl as principal violist

of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Camerata Academica Salzburg. Since 1995 he is professor for viola and chamber music at the Musikhochschule Köln. He is co-founder of the Uriel Quartet, an ensemble specialized in Beethoven’s and Bartok’s string quartets. Since 1999 he is the artistic director of the chamber music series “Musik auf dem Cronenberg” in Wuppertal, Germany. He is also the conductor of the Kammerphilharmonie Wuppertal.

Pauline Oostenrijk (oboe and piano) studied piano and oboe. Sinds many years she is solo-oboist at the Residentie Orkest (The Hague). In 1999 she received the prestigious Netherlands Music Price. She is very active as chamber musician: member of the Orlando Kwintet, the Barokensemble Oostenrijk-Jansen ad the Nieuw Amsterdams Peil.  She performed as soloist with the Sinfonietta Amsterdam, the orchestra of the 'Westdeutsche Rundfunk Köln', the  'Salzburger Kammerorchester', the Prague Symphony Orchestra and l'Orchestre d'Auverge. She taught oboe at the conservatoria of The Hague and Amsterdam. Currently she is teacher at the Prins Claus Conservatorium Groningen and the VAK Centrum voor de Kunsten, Delft.

Martine van der Loo (fluit) was for many years solo flutist of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and solo flutist of the Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 1995 she is solo fluitist of het 'Residentie Orkes't in The Hague. She is performing regularly as a chamber musician for example with her colleague Pauline Oostenrijk. In addition, Martine van der Loo is a psychologist NIP / health psychologist. She has her own 'Practice for musicians' in The Hague, in which she focuses on the mental guidance of professional musicians.

Marja Bon (piano) was, for many years, the pianist for the renowned Schönberg Ensemble and Wendingen. She has been on several tours across America, India and Europe and recorded many CD's. As a chamber musician, she worked with famous musicians such as Ronald Brautigam, Arjan Woudenberg, Tatiana Kolevai and the "Fodor- en Farkas Quintet." She has loads of experience as a song accompanist and has worked with soprano Irene Maessen, Rosemary Hardy and tenor Zeger Vandersteene. She is the founder and artistic leader of the Festival Tharaux Arts et Musique France, a festival with artworks and music. Marja also plays in the "Amsterdam Piano Quartet."

We also offer free sleeping places (guest house/ guest family) for students who live abroad.
